The Explore Collective pilots an ‘artists in residence’ model in two locations in South Wales with high levels of deprivation, rooted in community organisations and responding creatively to locally-identified issues and opportunities. The project shifts power dynamics, centres participants and explores the effects of engaging in creative practice on the whole person. The project creates new work and partnerships, with a legacy of ongoing collaborative creative work that fosters meaningful change. Straeon is helping the Collective to develop a meaningful evaluation framework that can be embedded into the development of the project as it unfolds. We are using qualitative and creative methods, working with artists and participants to produce creative evaluation outputs.
